Emma Suzuki

Emma Suzuki is an employment solicitor and experienced HR advisor.  Having qualified as a solicitor in 2005, she spent three years managing the HR function of a “Small Medium Enterprise” which was acquired by a large corporation.  She then spent two years running her own law firm as a sole practitioner, before teaming up with others as a self employed HR and Employment Law Consultant.  Her client portfolio includes academy schools, retail franchises and management companies.

Emma has a wide range of experience in the field of employment law, which is her sole area of practice.  She has acted for employers and employees on contentious and non-contentious matters.  She has sound negotiation skills and regularly secures settlements in favor of her clients.  Often she achieves this via a compromise agreement, or an ACAS COT3, where Tribunal proceedings are in motion. 

Her forte is advising owner managers of SME’s and emerging businesses in relation to restructuring, redundancy and TUPE.  Having been an in-house employment lawyer and HR Manager for a company with a highly unionised workforce, Emma has a wholesome appreciation of the issues that can arise when making changes in the workplace.  Emma can assist with matters as diverse as setting up a workable absence management system and training senior management on how to manage a redundancy situation.  She is available on a “one-off”, or more ongoing basis.
